Explanation of Heater Sampling Inspection: The pass rate in the past three years is less than 80%

In the cold season, heaters have become essential appliances for many consumers to resist the extreme cold. However, its quality and safety situation is not optimistic. In January 2025, Consumer Reports compiled and analyzed the sampling results of heaters released by the State Administration for Market Regulation and various provincial, municipal, and county-level market supervision and management bureaus in the past three years.

According to the sampling data, from January 2022 to December 2024, the regulatory authorities have cumulatively sampled 2059 batches of heaters. It is worrying that as many as 524 batches were found to be unqualified, with an overall pass rate of less than 80%. This data reflects that there are significant loopholes in product quality control in the heater market.

It is worth noting that well-known brands such as Panasonic, OPPO, Konka, and Pioneer have also appeared on the list of unqualified products. These brands usually have a high level of awareness and trust in the minds of consumers, and the occurrence of substandard products undoubtedly brings great trouble to consumers.

Further analysis of non-conforming items mainly focuses on key aspects such as power connections and external flexible cords, grounding measures, input power, and current. The power connection and external flexible cords are not qualified, which may cause the wires to be easily damaged and increase the risk of electric shock; The grounding measures are not perfect, and once there is a leakage in the electrical appliances, the current cannot be effectively guided into the ground, and users face the risk of electric shock; The input power and current do not meet the standards, which may cause overheating of the heater during use, and even lead to serious consequences such as fire.

As an electrical product closely related to consumer life, the quality and safety of heaters directly affect people's life and property safety. The results of this inspection have sounded the alarm for the entire heater industry. Production enterprises should strengthen quality control, strictly comply with relevant standards, and protect the rights and interests of consumers. At the same time, consumers should also be vigilant when choosing heaters, carefully discern product quality, and not ignore safety hazards due to the desire for cheapness.
