What are the materials for making cotton shoes

With the development of time, there are more and more material choices for making cotton shoes, and the selection of materials for making cotton shoes is crucial for the warmth, comfort, and durability of cotton shoes. Therefore, understanding the materials used for making cotton shoes and their characteristics can help people understand cotton shoes. Here are some common materials for cotton shoes:

1. Cotton:

Cotton, as a traditional insulation material, is known for its softness and comfort. Cotton fiber can provide good insulation, but its insulation may decrease after moisture absorption, and it needs to be kept dry to maintain optimal insulation.

2. Wool:

Wool is a natural insulation material with good breathability and the ability to regulate humidity. Wool fibers can absorb up to 30% of their own weight of moisture without feeling wet, while also releasing moisture to keep feet dry.

3 Leather materials (cowhide, sheepskin):

Cowhide is wear-resistant and water-resistant, making it an ideal material for making shoe uppers, with good warmth and durability. Sheepskin is softer and more comfortable, suitable for use as an lining or upper, providing additional warmth and comfort.

4 Rubber and Plastic (TPR, PU):

TPR (Thermoplastic Rubber): It has good elongation and resilience, and the molding method is simpler than rubber. It is an environmentally friendly polymer material, odorless, and free of harmful substances such as heavy metals. However, TPR has poor aging and hydrolysis resistance, less comfortable hand feel compared to silicone, and is not resistant to high temperatures.

PU (polyurethane): known as the "fifth largest plastic", used for manufacturing high-end shoes. PU soles are lightweight, wear-resistant, and have good cushioning performance, but they have strong water absorption, are prone to yellowing, are easy to break, have poor elongation, are not water-resistant, and have poor breathability.

5. Textile materials (cotton cloth, canvas):

Cotton cloth and canvas are lightweight, breathable, and suitable as shoe upper materials, but their warmth retention is relatively poor.

6. High tech materials (Thermolite, Gore Tex):

Thermolite: Thermolite is a polyester fiber that mimics the thermal insulation properties of down, providing excellent insulation.

Gore Tex: Waterproof and breathable material, suitable for outdoor shoes, keeping feet dry and comfortable.

7. Sole material (TPR, PU, EVA):

TPR sole: It has the properties of rubber and can be processed and recycled as thermoplastic. TPR soles have good elasticity and do not require vulcanization, but their wear resistance is not as good as TPU and they are not resistant to high temperatures.

PU sole: lightweight and comfortable, with good wear resistance, but prone to water absorption, yellowing, and breakage, not water-resistant, and poor breathability.

EVA sole: lightweight, elastic, flexible, not easily wrinkled, with excellent coloring properties, suitable for various climates, but easy to absorb water, not easy to corrode, not environmentally friendly, and prone to dirt.

8. Lining material (plush fabric, synthetic fur):

Plush fabric: soft and comfortable, commonly used for shoe lining, providing additional warmth and comfort.

Artificial fur: It has good insulation performance and is relatively cheap, but it may not be as breathable as natural fur.

9. Insole material (memory sponge, bamboo charcoal fiber):

Memory sponge: has strong impact energy absorption ability, can "flow" and shift according to pressure, conforms to the contour of the pressure surface, disperses pressure, and provides comfort. Memory sponge also has a good soft touch and an Open cell molecular structure similar to that of human cells, making it suitable for the medical rescue field.

Bamboo charcoal fiber: has super strong adsorption performance, can absorb, decompose and eliminate odors. Automatically adjust humidity, moisture absorption performance, heat storage and insulation, with far-infrared emission function, promoting blood circulation and metabolism in the human body, and also possessing antibacterial properties.

The above are the types and material characteristics of cotton shoe materials.
